Meet Our Staff

My name is Dr. Melissa Toney and I am the President and Founder of Serving With A Purpose. Working in corporate America for more than two decades I switched lanes to education and that is where my passion and vision for impacting the lives of kids holistically began. Being in education I quickly began to realize how big the basic needs of students were, how they were not being met beyond the classroom and their families too were falling into many hardships. My passion to serve others grew into this sought out mission to start a nonprofit organization to help change lives beyond education. I attribute my heart for people to my parents Robert Toney Sr. and Dede Toney who modeled to me and my siblings what it means to serve others and love Christ.  I have a bachelor's degree in business management, a Masters degree as a LPC and a Doctorate in Business & Entrepreneurship. I also take great pride and joy of the title Mom to my daughter.  My favorite quote and one I live by is "Be the Change You Want To See In The World" ~Ghandi

Ms. Rushundia Rodgers is our S.W.A.P. Resource Center Coordinator for Monroe, LA. Born and raised in Monroe she saw and recognized the great needs of those around her and she wanted to be apart of a solution and change. She wanted to ensure our organization impacted the communities she grew up in. She is a true servant at heart. She has served with Serving With A Purpose faithfully for the last 1 year and has shown that she is dedicated to being a vessel by God to help others in need. Ms. Rodgers not only serves for our organization she also serves in the lives of many people that she meets day to day.  She has 2 adult children 2 grandchildren that she has dedicated her life to love and support.  Her passion to step in and help others is evident in all that she does. She also volunteers at AT&T stadium where she helps fundraise money to support the families we serve along with the needs of the organization. We are blessed to have her and appreciate all her hard work and dedication to Christ and serving his people. 

Ms. Markyah Harris is our S.W.A.P. Resource Center Coordinator for Dallas, TX. She is passionate about serving and taking care of those in need. Even as a little girl, she always had a heart to help those around her. She is a self-starter and very driven in all she does. She currently attends the University of North Texas in Denton and is majoring in business. Her career goals include owning her own business that will help empower others. She dedicates all she does to Christ and her family.

Beyond her academic and career pursuits, Markyah is actively involved in various community service projects and volunteer initiatives. She regularly organizes and participates in local charity events, food drives, and mentorship programs for young people. Her dedication to making a positive impact extends beyond her professional life, as she continuously seeks ways to uplift and support those around her.
