258 million children and youth are out of school around the world, according to UNESCO data released in 2018.
Children do not attend school for many reasons — but they all stem from poverty. Children whose basic needs are not cared for are not socially, emotionally, or educationally capable of retaining educators' teaching nor are they academically able to excel.
Maslow's theory states that humans are motivated to fulfill their needs in a hierarchical order. The order begins with the most basic needs before moving on to more advanced needs. With out the foundation of basic needs being met its impossible for someone to be motivated to climb up the hierarchy to accomplish greater things.
We currently have S.W.A.P. Resource & Parent Centers within Dallas ISD and DeSoto ISD. We have additional schools/districts that will be receiving centers within the next year.
We partner with Monroe City Schools. We have our S.W.A.P. Resource & Parent Center within Berg Jones Lane Elementary and several more schools in the pipeline to be built within this next year. Madison James Foster Elementary is currently being built.
